Each month, we'll give nine awards to spotlight the people, colleges, and organizations that are doing innovative things for FGLI students.
Each of the winners will receive a digital badge that can be used on LinkedIn and other online platforms.

Student Superstar
Logan is a FGLI student at the Univ. of Connecticut. He is starting a career in foreign policy research at The Center for a Free Cuba. He was published in Geopolitics Magazine and 2 others.
During their inaugural “First-Gen Impact Awards”, which took place during First-Gen Celebration week, UW-Green Bay bestowed five awards to those making a positive impact for first-gen students.

JHU provides excellent support for its FGLI students, starting with its Hop-In Summer Bridge Program, I'm First Student Organization, Center for (FGLI) Student Success, and FLI Network.
Boston University is the winner of our coveted Gold Level award for its robust program that includes a FGLI orientation, graduation celebration, magazine and much more.

Dr. Huynh, a first-gen grad, completed her undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley and went on to graduate school at Princeton University. She is now an American Studies Professor at University of Notre Dame.
Sensational Staff Member
Dalton is the Hawk Link Coordinator at the University of Kansas. This program supports and prioritizes initiatives for students that identify as first generation.
Norma, a first-gen college graduate, is an accomplished professional. She shares her personal story to encourage and mentor first-generation college students.

The Inclusive Excellence Podcast series, recorded by Erin Sember-Chase and Toral Patel, unpacks various topics related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at work.
WKU is committed to first-generation student success. The Alumni-in-Residence program includes five alumni who will help students learn from their journeys and their experiences.
