Marco is a 2023 graduate and the recipient of the uber-prestigious Fulbright award. He’ll participate in a cultural exchange program at the Universidade de Aveiro in Portugal as part of his English Teaching Assistantship.

Wake Forest is crushing it for its freshly-minted early-action application that is only available to first-generation college students. The deadline to apply is November 15th, and non-binding decisions will be released on January 15th.

The University of Pennsylvania offers a bevy of support programs for FGLI students, including a four-week summer bridge program and a four-year College Achievement Program (CAP). It was also the 2022 IvyG Student Conference.

In addition to being a tenured Associate Professor, Dr. Wanzer-Serrano is the Interim Director of the Race and Ethnic Studies Institute. He advocates for “making universities more inclusive and meaningful for underrepresented students”.

Kevin hit the trifecta by participating in TRIO’s three core programs (Talent Search, Upward Bound, and Student Support Services). He was a first-generation student and is paying it forward in his role as an SSS advisor.

Kourtney has worked for the Posse Foundation, founded Student Enrichment Services at Northwestern, co-founded the FGLI Consortium, and now serves as VP in Global Philanthropy for JPMorgan Chase. Wow.

This non-profit hires recent college graduates (more than half of whom were first-gen/Pell-eligible), and places them in under-funded high schools as near-peer advisors to FGLI high-school students. It’s a win-win!
