Each month, we'll give nine awards to spotlight the people, colleges, and organizations that are doing innovative things for FGLI students. 

Each of the winners will receive a digital badge that can be used on LinkedIn and other online platforms.

Paola is a first-gen honors students at University of Nevada at Reno. She spent a summer in Ecuador doing research in the field of ecology, which has motivated her to get a PhD in Environmental Science.

Berea Colleges #1 on the College Access index, a list of the 286 best colleges ranked in order of economic diversity. 94% of Berea's students receive Pell grants. The 2nd place winner has only 69%.

Dr. Lee is dedicated to increasing access and equity for FGLI students of color, and women in STEM fields. Her serves on the Penn State Commission on Racism, Bias and Community Safety.

You First at VCU offers a summer bridge program, student org, a TRIO program, first-gen mentors, and a special session for parents at it's Preview Days (for admitted students). Well done!

Texas A&M's Routh First-Generation Center is a dedicated resource hub to support, serve, and celebrate first-generation students from admission to graduation!
